Amersham is really two towns wearing one name, and the rubbish reflects that. Down in the Misbourne valley, Old Amersham is a conservation-area High Street of coaching inns and listed frontages, where the houses have no driveway and often no side access — so a clearance there is a carry-out job through the front door onto a narrow pavement, timed around the traffic. Fridges, freezers and larger appliances are fine with a little notice so we dispose of them the proper way.

Choosing an on-demand man and van over a fixed skip or a long collection contract also gives you control. You decide when the waste goes, you are not paying rental on a skip that sits half-empty, and you are not tied into a monthly agreement for waste you only produce occasionally.
