4. It is booked, not same-day. Crews collect any time up to 6pm on your allocated day, and if items are not collected you wait until the next day before you can even report it.

It is open seven days a week — 9am to 6pm from 1 April to 30 September, and 9am to 4pm from 1 October to 31 March.

It is a full-service site with 11 unloading bays — the largest capacity in the south of the county, nearly double Amersham’s six.

It is one of only six Buckinghamshire sites licensed for asbestos, and one of only five that accepts trade waste.

Vans, trucks and minibuses need a free permit, and vehicles with tippers or tail lifts are refused entry outright whatever permit you hold.

Two things catch people out. The hours are seasonal, and most tip-listing sites have the winter times wrong for half the year. And DIY waste is not household waste — rubble, soil, turf, fencing, doors and bathroom fittings are charged per item from £4.20 to £29.40 once you exceed the free allowance a DIY permit buys you.

Disposal and recycling are handled as part of the fixed price when we do it instead, with waste transfer paperwork on request so your duty of care is covered.
