What we collect in Hillingdon
Hillingdon gives its name to the whole borough, but the place itself is the UB8 and UB10 ground between Uxbridge and Hayes, threaded by Long Lane, Uxbridge Road and Royal Lane. Around Hillingdon village and off Long Lane the houses are mostly interwar semis with long gardens, a garage and a loft — so the typical job here is a garage or a loft cleared in one visit rather than a single item taken away.
Nearer Hillingdon Hospital and Hillingdon station, on the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines, more of the work is in flats: a sofa, a mattress and the bags that build up between tenants. Parking is restricted around the hospital and the station, so send the address when you book and we will plan the loading stop before the van arrives. Household rubbish, furniture, appliances, garden waste, timber and DIY waste all go in the same load, and the crew does every bit of the carrying.
Our base is next door in Uxbridge, so same-day collection in UB8 and UB10 is the norm rather than a premium — we are usually with you in well under half an hour, 7am to 10pm, seven days a week including bank holidays. You pay for the space the load fills: £95 for a minimum load, £195 for a quarter, £320 for a half and £495 for a full Luton, fixed from a photo before we set off.
Hillingdon Council charges for bulky waste by the slot, not the item: £53 for most residents, £39 if you are over 65 and £94 for landlords. A slot covers up to six items, so a single mattress still costs the whole £53 and a seventh item means a second slot. Everything has to be at your boundary, at ground-floor level, by 6am — the crew will not come inside — and building and DIY waste, rubble, garden waste, tyres and hazardous items are refused. Collections run Monday to Friday on the next free date. For a few ordinary items you can carry out yourself, that is cheaper than us and we will tell you so; our Hillingdon bulky waste guide has the full rules.
There is no tip in Hillingdon itself. The borough’s household recycling centre is the Harefield Civic Amenity Site on New Years Green Lane (UB9 6LX), up in the far north-west corner of the borough: free for residents, open seven days from 8am to 4pm with last entry at 3.45pm. Cars need a HillingdonFirst card, vans need two forms of ID and are capped at 12 visits a year, and it takes household waste only. Since 15 July residents can also use Space Waye in Feltham, which is closer for the south of the borough. Our Harefield tip guide covers the ID and van rules.

Cleared & recycled
We sweep up, take it away, and recycle whatever we can at licensed sites.
Commercial, office and trade waste removal in Hillingdon
We clear trade waste in Hillingdon as well — end-of-tenancy strip-outs for landlords and letting agents, and end-of-job waste for builders working on the semis off Long Lane and Royal Lane. Commercial loads are priced by volume, the same as household ones, with a waste transfer note on request.
What we collect covers most non-hazardous streams: general and mixed waste, office and commercial furniture, retail fixtures and fittings, timber and pallets, cardboard and packaging, flooring and carpet, plasterboard and light rubble, and end-of-life household items. There are a few things a man and van cannot legally carry loose — hazardous waste such as asbestos, chemicals, clinical waste, gas bottles and tyres — but tell us what you have and we will either handle it correctly or point you to the right specialist. Fridges, freezers and larger appliances are fine with a little notice so we dispose of them the proper way.
Rubbish removal in Hillingdon — your questions answered
Is the council cheaper than you in Hillingdon?
For a few ordinary items you can get to your boundary by 6am, yes — a Hillingdon bulky slot is £53, or £39 if you are over 65, and we would rather say so than take the booking. It stops being cheaper past six items, when anything has to come out of the house, garage or loft, when there is building or garden waste in the pile, or when it has to go today. Two council slots come to £106, and you still carry everything out yourself.
Can you clear a flat near Hillingdon Hospital?
Yes — flats around the hospital and Hillingdon station are a regular job for us. Parking there is restricted, so tell us the address and the floor when you book and we will work out where the van can stop before we come. The crew carries everything down; nothing needs to be at the kerb.
What does it cost to clear a garage off Long Lane?
Most single garages come out between a quarter load at £195 and a half load at £320; one with furniture and DIY waste in it is more often three-quarters, at £405. Send a photo from the doorway and we will fix the price before the van sets off.
How quickly can you get to UB8 or UB10?
Usually the same day. Hillingdon borders our Uxbridge base, so we are normally with you in well under half an hour, and we work 7am to 10pm, seven days a week including bank holidays.
Can I take it to the tip myself?
You can, but it is not in Hillingdon: the borough’s tip is at Harefield, on New Years Green Lane (UB9 6LX). Cars need a HillingdonFirst card; vans need two forms of ID and count against a 12-visit annual cap, and there is no entry after 3.45pm. If the load fits in your car and you have the card, it is the cheapest option going.
Where we collect rubbish near Hillingdon
We are based in Uxbridge (UB8) and cover Hillingdon seven days a week. As well as UB8 and UB10 we work across Ickenham, Ruislip, Hayes, Cowley and Yiewsley, and the rest of the borough.
What the price includes — and what it doesn't
The most common complaint about clearance companies is a price that grows once the van is loaded. So here is the whole of ours, before you book, including the parts that cost extra.
Included in the price we quote
No line of this is billed separately afterwards.
- Labour — the crew, the carrying and the loading.
- The van, the fuel, ULEZ and the congestion charge — London charges are ours, not yours.
- Disposal and recycling of the load — the tipping cost is inside the price.
- Access from anywhere on the property — any room, up or down stairs, or out of the garden.
- VAT — the price you are shown is the price you pay.
- Waste transfer paperwork for your load, on request — so your duty of care is documented.
Priced separately, or not carried at all
Told to you up front, never discovered on the invoice.
- Upholstered seating and mattresses carry their own disposal fee, because the law forces them down a more expensive route than the rest of your load. The amount is on our pricing page before you book.
- Hazardous items — paint, chemicals, asbestos, tyres and gas bottles cannot travel in a general load and need a specialist route. We will tell you which one.
- Fridges, freezers and electricals have a separate WEEE route — flag them when you book so we arrive with the right van.
- Anything flammable, explosive, illegal, or alive — we cannot carry it, and we will say so before the day.
If there turns out to be more than we quoted for, you hear the new price before anything goes in the van — not once it is loaded, and not on the invoice. The same goes for access: tell us when you book if your street is permit-only or on a red route, or if the job is above the third floor with no lift, and we plan for it instead of pricing round it on the day.
What happens to your waste after we drive away
Most clearance companies stop this story at the word "recycled". Here is the actual route your load takes, including the part of it that nobody advertises.
It goes in by hand
Everything is carried out and loaded by the crew — from the room, the garden or the kerbside. What is in the load matters, because what is in it decides where it is legally allowed to go.
Sorted, not buried
The load goes to a licensed transfer station or recycling centre, where it is separated by material. It is not tipped straight into a hole in the ground.
Recovered by material
Metal, wood, cardboard, textiles and electricals are pulled out for recycling or recovery. Green waste is composted.
The bit nobody advertises
Upholstered furniture cannot be recycled at all. Since January 2023 the Environment Agency presumes every domestic sofa, armchair and padded dining chair contains persistent organic pollutants, so it must be kept apart from other waste and incinerated — never landfilled, never shredded for reuse. That law, not a markup, is why soft seating carries its own fee. Whatever is genuinely left after sorting goes to energy recovery.
- Metal
- Wood
- Cardboard & paper
- Textiles
- Electricals (WEEE)
- Green waste
We do not publish a recycling percentage. You will see "90% diverted from landfill" on a lot of clearance websites. The sorting happens at the transfer station, after our van has left, and we are not going to take credit for a figure we cannot evidence. What we can give you is the route your load takes and the paperwork for it — and if you want to check who handles it, ask us to identify the registered carrier for your collection and verify them on the Environment Agency public register before we load.
Proof, not adjectives
Anyone can type "trusted" and "reliable" onto a website. These are the things about us you can actually check.
We are a small London crew, not a national booking platform, and we are not going to pretend otherwise: we have 27 five-star reviews on Google and 3 on Yell. That is all of them. Every one is public, unedited and one tap away — which is worth rather more than a five-figure review count you have no way of reading.
