The safe way to empty a London loft
A loft is the one room in the house nobody wants to tackle. Access is through a small hatch, often with a rickety folding ladder or none at all, the boarding may be partial, and everything up there has to be carried down at head height and out through the landing. Our two-person crew is set up for exactly this: we bring our own steps, work carefully around the joists and the boarded and unboarded sections, and pass items down through the hatch hand to hand so nothing gets dropped and no ceiling gets damaged. You stay safely on the landing while we do the climbing and the heavy lifting.
Lofts fill up with the things a house has nowhere else to put. Old boxes of paperwork, Christmas decorations and childhood keepsakes, suitcases and travel bags, spare furniture and mattresses, broken electricals, disused cold-water tanks, offcuts of timber, and bag after bag of leftover or degraded insulation. We clear the lot — the useful, the broken and the plain forgotten — sort it as we load, and take reusable and recyclable material to licensed recycling centres and transfer stations wherever we can rather than sending everything to landfill. If any of it is worth keeping, we set it aside for you before it goes in the van.

A few items start from £85, a quarter van load from £245, a half van load from £360 and a full van load from £655. Do you go into the loft and bring things down?
Yes — that's the whole point. We do the awkward access for you: up through the hatch, working around the joists and boarding, and passing everything down by hand. You don't need to climb the ladder or lift a thing. Just tell us if the hatch is especially small or the ladder is missing so we bring the right kit.
Do you recycle what you take?
Yes. We sort the load and take reusable and recyclable material — metal, wood, working electricals, furniture in good condition — to licensed recycling centres and transfer stations for proper, licensed disposal, so as little as possible ends up in landfill.
