Does a Removal Van Pay ULEZ?

This is a guide based on postcode area, not a vehicle check. The ULEZ boundary follows the Greater London boundary (up to but not including the M25). For the definitive answer on your exact address and registration, use TfL's official checkers below.

Where it applies

Since 29 August 2023 the ULEZ covers all 32 London boroughs and the City of London — the whole of Greater London, up to (but not including) the M25. Uxbridge, Harrow, Hounslow and the rest of outer London are all inside.

When it applies

ULEZ runs 24 hours a day, every day except Christmas Day. It's a daily charge — one payment covers a full day, so a same-day move in and out of the zone is a single charge, not one per trip.

What it costs

£12.50 per day for a non-compliant car or small van (up to 3.5 tonnes). Compliant vehicles — most diesels registered from about September 2015 (Euro 6) — pay nothing. Heavier lorries fall under the separate LEZ scheme, not ULEZ.

Congestion Charge too?

If your move touches central London, the Congestion Charge (a separate £15/day) may also apply — 7am–6pm Mon–Fri and 12pm–6pm Sat–Sun. It covers a much smaller central zone than ULEZ.
